Interim – We’ll stop on the bluff (about ¾ of the way around the loop trail) and, Lord willing, view the sun-glow on the Olympics…  We’ll have a brief devotional (~10 min.), break up for some time of individual reflection (~15 min.), and then gather up for the rest of the trek back to the parking lot.

Directions/Map:

Discovery Park is located in the Magnolia area, address is:

3801 W Government Way, Seattle, WA 98199If you go to the Discovery Park website, they have directions:

http://www.cityofseattle.net/parks/Environment/discovparkindex.htm

And also a map:

http://www.seattle.gov/parks/Environment/Trails/discovery-map.htm

Please remember – we meet at the South Parking Lot.  If you go to the main entrance of the Park (W Government Way and 36th Ave. W), turn left on 36th & then right on Emerson, follow that down about half a mile to the turn-in for the South Parking Lot, which will be on your right.  Look for a silver Honda Civic.

The Trail:

The ‘Loop Trail’ is a little under 3 miles, and considered to be pretty mild.  The trail loops thru the park with minimal elevation change.

Gear:

-Tennis shoes should be fine for the trail

-Dress in layers, I would expect the morning will be fairly cold, but as we get moving, we’ll warm up

-Water – 1 liter should be plenty

-Optional:  Bring an extra layer/coat/or mat to sit on during our short gathering on the bluff

-Optional:  Camera

Pray for sunshine!
